If you have a website you’ve designed and set up, you probably want to get as much traffic to it as possible. You’ve also probably learned by now that this is much easier said than done. –Choose a target keyword phrase. This keyword phrase will be the set of words you would like your website to come up in the search engines for. To get a decent amount of traffic, you will need to choose a keyword phrase that is searched frequently. –Ideally, your keyword phrase will also be your domain name, or something similar to it. Then you might want to name your website after the keywords you’ve chosen, if its not already. Try to incorporate your keywords as often as you can in the content section of your website. Don’t go overboard, it should still read smoothly and not look “spammy.”
–Now, the promotion part. To get lots of traffic, you need lots of links. The two quickest and most efficient ways to get links are to 1.) submit your website to social bookmarking sites and 2.) write articles and distribute them to various article directories, including your websites link at the bottom.
The more links you have from other pages pointing to your website, the higher your search engine rank will be. You can easily do this by dropping links on other blogs and forums, however this can be quite time consuming. Article marketing is the most effective way to gain links, but this takes lots of time as well, however it is worth it in the long run.
